School Meals at Allscott Meads
At Allscott Meads Primary School, we are partner with Caterlink to provide our pupils with delicious, nutritious meals that they look forward to enjoying each day.
Caterlink offers a rotating menu on a 3-week cycle, providing variety and excitement at lunchtime. Each day, pupils can choose from at least two hot meal options and a sandwich option, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Meals are carefully designed to cater to diverse tastes and dietary needs, with a focus on fresh, wholesome ingredients.
To enhance the lunch experience, pupils select their meal option in the morning, giving them something to look forward to at lunchtime.
Lunch boxes
While we understand the convenience of home-packed lunches, we encourage pupils in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 to take advantage of our free hot school meals, which are nutritionally balanced and prepared fresh daily. Sandwiches are also available daily in the canteen, alongside an expanded menu that accommodates additional snacks and dietary needs.
For families who prefer to send packed lunches, we ask parents/carers to ensure that meals are healthy and meet dietary recommendations. Fizzy drinks and sweets are not permitted in packed lunches.
Free meals
Universal free school meals: Pupils in reception, year 1, and year 2 are entitled to a free school meal each day, at no cost to parents/carers.
Free school meals for eligible pupils: Families may qualify for free school meals based on certain criteria. Parents/carers must apply through the local authority. For more information and to apply online, click here.
Paying for school meals
For pupils in year 3 and above who are not eligible for free school meals, lunches are available at the excellent value of £2.50 per day. Payments are managed through the ParentPay App, a convenient and secure platform.
- Upon enrolment, parents/carers will receive ParentPay login details.
- To pay for meals, navigate to the “pay for meals” option in the app and top up your child’s account.
- Regular reminders ensure your child’s balance is kept up to date.
